Fixed Price to Solo
York Gliding Centre offers an opportunity to learn to fly gliders from ab initio at your own pace over a period of up to twelve months for a single fixed payment- just one fee to pay, no other charges for membership, launches, flying hours or instruction.
You will be learning in a friendly environment, mentored by our team of expert instructors, using our fleet of four two-seater gliders. Rufforth is ideally placed as a gliding site, in an area free from controlled airspace; you will have many opportunities to develop as a soaring pilot after that first solo.
One single payment of £1,400- less than £27 a week over 12 months buys:
- One year's membership of York Gliding Centre based at Rufforth York
- Full use of the club's four, two seat, training aircraft
- Free BGA (British Gliding Association trained and qualified) instruction
- Unlimited Aerotow launching
- Unlimited Winch launching
- Full use of the Club's facilities
- Free attendance on any mid week training courses
- Free ground tuition.
